The Winnipeg Jets won their franchise-record 11th game in a row with a 4-1 road victory over the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night.
Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist and Mark Scheifele, Cole Perfetti and Mason Appleton also scored for the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck made 24 saves.
Defenseman Thomas Chabot scored for the Senators, who lost their fifth game in a row. Linus Ullmark stopped 35 shots.
Winnipeg led 2-0 after the first period, scoring twice in a 1:17 span.
Perfetti opened the scoring 7:46 into the game when he tipped in Nikolaj Ehlers' shot/pass after a turnover by Ottawa's Tim Stutzle in his own zone. Ehlers directed the puck towards the net from the left point.
Appleton scored at 9:03 when he poked in a puck lying beside Ullmark's right pad after the goalie had made a save on Nino Niederreiter's shot.
Connor's 31st goal of the season gave the Jets a 3-0 lead 8:04 into the second period. He scored on a wrist shot from the bottom of the left circle.
But Chabot put Ottawa on the board 49 seconds later when his shot from the left circle off the rush beat Hellebuyck. Stutzle got the lone assist to stretch his scoring streak to 10 games (three goals, 11 assists for 14 points).
The Senators consecutively killed off a full two-minute, two-man disadvantage and a one-man short situation in the middle of the second period.
Scheifele added an empty-net goal with 2:56 left. It was his 33rd goal and second in two games
Ottawa defenseman Tyler Kleven left the game in the second period with a lower-body injury. He fought Winnipeg captain Adam Lowry 6:41 into the game. Kleven went to the dressing room later in the first period before returning briefly early in the second.
Senators captain Brady Tkachuk missed his second game with a lower-body injury. Ottawa was also without centers Josh Norris (mid-body injury) and Shane Pinto (upper-body injury).
