Lenyn Sosa went 2-for-4 and hit a go-ahead solo home run in the eighth inning to lift the host Chicago White Sox to a 3-2 victory against the New York Yankees on Sunday.
Chicago salvaged the finale of the four-game series to stop a five-game losing streak while ending New York's season-best winning streak at seven.
Mike Vasil recorded his third save, retiring the final three Yankees after Cam Booser walked the leadoff hitter in the ninth.
Booser (2-4) picked up the victory, pitching one-third of an inning with three walks.
Losing pitcher Tim Hill (4-4) allowed Sosa's home run in the eighth.
Aaron Judge went 3-for-5 and finished a triple short of the cycle for the Yankees.
New York fell three games behind the American League East-leading Toronto Blue Jays while staying one-half game ahead of the Boston Red Sox for the first AL wild-card spot. Toronto and Boston both won Sunday.
Judge put the Yankees ahead two batters into the game, connecting against Chicago left-hander Martin Perez for a solo home run to center field. Judge, who also went deep Saturday, leads New York with 43 home runs, and moved into a tie with Yogi Berra for the fifth-most home runs by a Yankee with the 358th of his career.
The White Sox tied the game in the second when Will Robertson doubled to score Curtis Mead, who doubled one batter earlier.
New York regained the lead in the third courtesy of consecutive doubles of its own, with Cody Bellinger's hit plating Judge.
White Sox right fielder Mike Tauchman thwarted the Yankees' bid to add to the advantage, leaping over the wall to rob Giancarlo Stanton of a two-run blast and end the inning.
Colson Montgomery's solo shot in the sixth tied the game at 2 for Chicago.
Yankees starter Luis Gil worked 5 1/3 innings of two-run, four-hit ball with two walks and seven strikeouts. He left after walking Edgar Quero following the Montgomery home run. Fernando Cruz induced a double-play grounder to escape further trouble.
Perez also took a no-decision, spacing two runs, five hits, two walks and seven strikeouts in six innings.
Chicago finished 4-6 on a 10-game homestand.
