The Riyadh Falcons dealt first-place OpTic Texas their first loss of Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major qualifying on Saturday.
The second-place Miami Heretics (6-4) also lost on Saturday and have the same record as Riyadh, behind OpTic Texas (9-1) in the standings with one more day of qualifying matches on Sunday.
The 12 Call of Duty League teams are playing a full qualifying round robin to determine seeding for the second major of the season, to be held March 27-29 in Marston Green, England, as part of the DreamHack Birmingham event.
The top six teams in qualifying head straight into the Stage 2 Major playoffs, while the teams in seventh through 10th place will compete in a play-in round.
The Stage 2 Major champion will receive $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points. The runner-up will get $90,000 and 75 CDL points.
On Saturday, the Riyadh Falcons recorded a 3-1 win over OpTic Texas, which opened with a 250-207 win on Den Hardpoint. But the Falcons ran off wins on Exposure Search and Destroy (6-4), Exposure Overload (4-2) and Exposure Hardpoint (250-189).
The Carolina Royal Ravens outlasted the Miami Heretics 3-2. Carolina started fast with wins on Exposure Hardpoint (250-199) and Colossus Search and Destroy (6-4). Miami drew even with victories on Scar Overload (7-1) and Blackheart Hardpoint (250-246). It came down to Raid Search and Destroy, with the Royal Ravens winning 6-4.
FaZe Vegas swept last-place Cloud9 New York 3-0, winning 250-219 on Blackheart Hardpoint, 6-5 on Raid Search and Destroy and 7-1 on Den Overload.
The Los Angeles Thieves ran over G2 Minnesota 3-0, winning 250-147 on Colossus Hardpoint, 6-2 on Colossus Search and Destroy and 4-2 on Den Overload.
